If you searched “guess the song Songspot,” you probably want to get into a round without reading a rulebook. The basic loop takes less than a minute to learn.
Choose Easy and Any era for a broad first pool. Keep your headphones at a comfortable level, then use the large green Play button in the middle of the page.
Start with the shortest clue
The first clip lasts 0.1 seconds. It may sound almost comically brief, but do not replay it ten times without thinking. Ask what produced the sound and whether the recording feels old, modern, live or programmed.
You can replay the current stage before moving on. Repetition sometimes reveals a pickup or vocal consonant that was easy to miss the first time.
Select the title before pressing Guess
Begin typing in Name that track. Songspot shows matching titles with artists underneath. Choose one result; the input now displays the full title and artist, and the button beside it changes from Skip to Guess.
Press Guess to check the selected song. If it is wrong, the next clue becomes available. This two-step flow prevents a half-typed title from being submitted by accident.
Know when to Skip and when to Reroll
Skip keeps the same song but reveals a longer clip. Reroll all abandons the current round and draws another song from the active difficulty and era.
Use Skip when you are curious about the answer. Use Reroll when the track is outside the kind of session you want to play.
